Clean Fuels Members Gather In D.C. For Fall Meeting, Hill Visits

Leaders representing every segment of the biodiesel, renewable diesel, and sustainable aviation fuel supply chain gathered in Washington, D.C., in November for Clean Fuels Alliance America’s annual membership meeting and Governing Board elections. The event highlighted the breadth and depth of Clean Fuels’ nationwide membership, bringing together technical experts, producers, and stakeholders to shape the association’s priorities and deliver unified policy messages on Capitol Hill.

During the proceedings, Clean Fuels members selected seven individuals to fill Governing Board seats for new two-year terms. Two first-time board members—Michael Devine of the National Oilheat Research Alliance and Jeramie Weller of Minnesota Soybean Processors—joined the leadership team. Complete results from the Governing Board elections are posted on cleanfuels.org.

Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA) addressed attendees on Tuesday, reiterating her long-standing backing of the renewable fuels sector. She emphasized her commitment to ongoing dialogue with Iowans, along with her continued work to advance policies that bolster clean fuel production. Hinson also referenced the bipartisan letter she and 48 other lawmakers recently sent to EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, calling for full reallocation of small refinery exemptions and timely issuance of final Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) rules.

Throughout the week, Clean Fuels facilitated 94 meetings between its members and congressional offices, giving nearly 100 participants the chance to speak directly with their Senators and Representatives. Members encouraged policymakers to push Treasury and EPA to finalize rules for §45Z and the 2026–27 RFS, stressing that regulatory clarity is essential for sustaining investment and supporting economic development across the clean fuels sector.

“Our November gathering continues to illustrate what this industry can achieve when we engage collectively,” said Clean Fuels CEO Donnell Rehagen. “Our members remain strongly committed to advancing policies that expand markets, strengthen rural communities, and deliver meaningful environmental progress. Their advocacy matters in Washington, and this week made that clear.”
