Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced Oct. 13 that its fleet of corporate, demonstration, and support aircraft has surpassed 3 million nautical miles flown using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blends.
The milestone coincided with the Gulfstream G800, G700, G600, and G400 flying to the 2025 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas, Nevada, in mid-October on SAF blends. These aircraft, along with a mock-up of the newly announced Gulfstream G300, were featured on display throughout the event.
“Flying more than 3 million nautical miles on SAF blends is a testament to our commitment to sourcing and demonstrating the benefits of SAF,” said Gulfstream President Mark Burns. “We have long been at the forefront of sustainability innovations, and this latest milestone further showcases our leadership and efforts to advance business aviation’s overarching sustainability goals.”
Gulfstream noted that it continues to maintain a robust supply of SAF at its Savannah, Georgia, headquarters and plans to increase its usage by nearly 50 percent this year compared to last.
The company emphasized its long-standing role as a sustainability leader in business aviation, pointing to achievements made through close collaboration with fuel developers and engine manufacturers. Gulfstream was the first original-equipment manufacturer (OEM) to fly on 100 percent neat SAF and the first OEM to earn National Business Aviation Association Sustainable Flight Department Accreditations in all four categories: flight, operations, ground support, and infrastructure.
In 2023, Gulfstream completed the world’s first transatlantic flight powered entirely by 100 percent SAF made from hydroprocessed esters and fatty acids (HEFA) in both engines. In 2024, the company followed that milestone by successfully conducting ground emissions testing with 100 percent neat SAF containing zero sulfur.
